For the last month, MidwestHR’s 180 Initiative program organized and collected clothes for our Spring Cleaning Clothing Drive. All items were donated to Sharing Connections located in Downers Grove, IL. MidwestHR and one of our clients donated over 25 bags full of clothing items for the shelter!
Sharing Connections is a non-profit organization that donates gently used furniture, household items, clothes, and more to those in need. Other organizations like food pantries, shelters, and housing organizations refer families to Sharing Connections to help furnish and supply their homes. On average, Sharing Connections donates items to about 6,000 individuals per year. Also, families who receive donations bring home $1,200 worth of items on average. This organization is truly impacting families in the community through their generous giving efforts and donations!
This 180 Initiative event was a huge success for our staff and one of our clients as many people were eager to donate clothes found during spring cleaning. The overwhelmingly generous amount of contributions quickly filled up an entire cube at our office space! We are looking forward to hosting this event every year at this time because of the great outcome for Sharing Connections!
