Every year, the MidwestHR 180 Initiative program offers a scholarship for qualified high school students of our clients’ employees. The recipient must demonstrate strong characteristics of leadership, academic achievement, and involvement in the community through volunteer and extra-curricular activities. Of the candidate pool, one deserving applicant is chosen to receive a monetary award to help fund their college education.
The 180 Initiative Scholarship Committee and the rest of the members of MidwestHR are very happy to announce our 2020 Scholarship winner: Miss Nicole Callahan.
In high school, Nicole served as a member of the National Honor Society, a captain of the volleyball team and volunteered as an assistant coach for a team of young children helping them develop a love for the game. All while taking AP and honors classes throughout high school. Nicole’s dedication to volleyball has helped her grow and build the character and leadership skills needed as a foundation for her future.
Nicole will be graduating high school with a weighted GPA average of 4.14. She is in the top 10% of her graduating class. She will begin her college career at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI and will major in biology.
When it came time to present Nicole with her award, COVID-19 presented a few roadblocks! But, armed with technology and team members eager to celebrate Nicole’s success, MidwestHR presented Nicole with her scholarship “virtually”!
MidwestHR is proud to present Nicole Callahan the 2020 College Scholarship Award and we are excited to see her success in the future.
Congratulations to Nicole!
Nicole is the daughter of Diane Callahan of FPC Corporation. MidwestHR would like to thank FPC owners, Mike Callahan and Pat Callahan, and our contact, Tina Collett, for allowing and arranging the virtual award ceremony.
