The officers and staff of MidwestHR, located in Woodridge, IL, are excited to announce this year’s MidwestHR College Scholarship awardee, Marissa Czarnecki. Many qualified candidates submitted applications for this year’s scholarship, but Marissa stood out as a clear leader among the group.
In its second year, MidwestHR’s scholarship program will offset Marissa’s college tuition by $2,500. All MidwestHR client site employees who had children entering a two or four-year college or university were invited to submit applications for the scholarship. MidwestHR knows the challenges of young students today and wishes to assist in the development of our future leaders.
Marissa is well on her way to becoming a true leader. While attending Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden, CT for her high school education, she earned a cumulative GPA of 4.0 over four years. Along with keeping up her academics, she volunteers at a hospice center and the Evergreen Woods Senior Center, is a member of the National Honor Society and is a student intern at Yale University School of Medicine. Marissa’s definition of a leader as “a person who knows how to achieve goals and inspire people along the way” stood out to our Scholarship Committee. The leadership at MidwestHR holds the same mentality and strives to inspire others each and every day.
Marissa has been accepted to Endicott College in Beverly, MA and will pursue a nursing degree with goals of becoming a nurse anesthetist. MidwestHR is honored to have the opportunity to assist Marissa in furthering her education and know she will grow to be a leader in her career.
